Practice

Boon is a multi-disciplinary design practice based in San Francisco. Founded in 1993 and led by Brian Scott, Boon focuses on cultural, publishing, and creative-driven enterprises. Our studio is small and agile. We nurture client interaction and we strive for deep explorations with a core team of collaborators: architects, artists, curators, developers, engineers, fabricators, illustrators, photographers, and writers. And since 2012 we have published original editions under the name ExtraCurricular Press.

Approach

Boon designs thoughtful contemporary visual experiences across all media. Each project, no matter the scale or budget, is constructed based on a unique graphic voice. We proceed methodically from research to concept, through exploration, design, and delivery. Our focus on precise and finely produced work stems from over 20 years of experimentation, including the occasional happy accident. We are inquisitive, patient, and critical, and believe that good design is a process.

Our services include:

Art Direction
Brand Identity
Content Strategy
Exhibition Design
