If you missed Paolo Salvagione’s tour de force open studio installation in 2010 at Headlands Center for the Arts, you can see new work and a version of his installation, Missing Window, this Friday, 4 November at Aggregate Space, in West Oakland. The opening is from 5–8pm (part of Oakland’s Art Murmur). Aggregate Space is located at 801 West Grand Avenue (Entrance on West Street). Show announcement is below. Salvagione will be debuting a new edition, entitled Blackwork — and as with other pieces, we have made an A5 card especially for the edition, with an essay from our friend Marc Weidenbaum at disquiet.



In May of 2011, Richard Misrach hired Boon to create two custom ledger books to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the East Bay hills firestorm of October 20, 1991. In conjunction with exhibitions at the Oakland Museum of California and the Berkeley Art Museum, two volumes, one for each museum, function as an interactive component of these and all future exhibits of the photographs. Visitors are encouraged to share their recollections, tributes and insights.


A SORS (Hungarian for destiny) is a sense intensified journey through Mexican history framed through the lens of cuisine. A project by Julio Cesar Morales and Max La Riviere-Hedrick, with Norma Listman for the Warhol Initiative, the dinner will be presented at the Masonic Lodge in San Francisco, Friday, 24 June, 2011.
